U.S. Department of Energy’s HALEU Consortium Welcomes Hadron Energy as New Member

Samuel Gibson

Hadron Energy has officially been accepted into the U.S. Department of Energy’s High-Assay Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU) Consortium! This is a major milestone that reflects our commitment to the next generation of advanced nuclear technologies in the U.S. and beyond.

The HALEU Consortium was established by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy to support the development of a secure and reliable domestic supply chain for HALEU, an advanced fuel required for many next-gen nuclear reactors, including Hadron’s micro modular designs. The initiative brings together fuel producers, reactor developers, national laboratories, and universities to solve critical challenges around HALEU production, transportation, enrichment, and use.

Hadron Energy joining the HALEU Consortium signals our participation in shaping the supply chain and infrastructure to power the future. We are developing deployable, factory-built microreactors that deliver 24/7, carbon-free power for remote communities, data centers, and critical infrastructure.

As a HALEU Consortium member, Hadron Energy gains:

  • Access to DOE-facilitated discussions on fuel availability and infrastructure
  • Opportunities to collaborate with leading fuel cycle partners and labs
  • Insights into regulatory and supply chain readiness
  • A voice in shaping national strategy for HALEU deployment

Why It Matters:

  • HALEU is critical to deploying the advanced microreactors that will modernize U.S. energy infrastructure
  • Our participation helps accelerate secure, domestic sourcing of advanced reactor fuels
  • Membership reinforces Hadron’s role in the national dialogue around clean energy, innovation, and energy security

Hadron Energy is grateful for the DOE’s Office of Nuclear Energy welcoming us into the Consortium. We look forward to working alongside our peers to build the resilient fuel infrastructure required to bring microreactors to life.
